94 Days Left!

Happy FriYAY Wolves! It is crazy to think we are already halfway through January! Our Wolves have been doing amazing and constantly showing us that they are demonstrating the core values of being a WOLF (Work, Ownership. Learning and Friendship) Our WOLF Wall has now turned into our Wolf Hallway as we have taken over two sides of the wall with all the WOLF notes and even started to travel down into the main lobby. I wonder how much of the hallway we will fill in the next 94 days.

🚌 No School Monday 🚌 🚌 No School Monday 🚌

No School 2/3 & 3/3

Please note that Lowell has announced there will be no school on Tuesday February 3rd and Tuesday March 3rd due to upcoming Elections. With Collegiate being a voting site, we will also need to be closed for those two days. This currently changes our last day to June 18th with no current snow days.

🌍 ACCESS Testing 🌍 🌍 ACCESS Testing 🌍

January 5 - February 20

It’s almost time for ACCESS testing! All multilingual learners will take this annual language assessment during school hours. The test looks at growth in Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking, and it’s an important way for us to see how students are developing their English skills. All testing will be done by our English Language Education (ELE) teachers, and score reports will be shared with families in late May/early June.

January 21st

Collegiate was recently awarded a Mass Cultural Council grant to bring the arts to our school in a series of programs brought to us by the Opening Doors Project. On Wednesday, 1/21, we will have two assemblies, Stories on the Wind for grades K-2 from 9-9:50 (in the gym) and I Have a Dream for grades 3-5 (in the gym). These performances will be a celebration of music and stories. The first round of performances back in October was great! Please reach out to Katy Angelone or Zach LaRose with any questions about the performance.

πŸš— Dismissal Reminders πŸš— πŸš— Dismissal Reminders πŸš—

A Few Reminders to Help Keep Everyone Safe

Our goal is to always make sure dismissal runs smoothly and safely.

  • ALL Parent Pickup cars should be in the pickup lane (Right-hand drive, closest to the school)
  • There should be no cars in the bus lane or parked in parking spots to pick up students
  • All cars must pull up to the sidewalk to get students. Students will not be allowed to cross into traffic.
  • All parents should remain in their cars to keep the flow of traffic moving
  • Students will enter cars through the rear passenger side door.

If you need to change how your student is going home for a day, it needs to go through the front office by 2:00!

Students will also not be able to be dismissed after 3:00. If you need to pull your kiddo out early for an appointment please make sure it is before 3:00 and that the front office is notified earlier in the day.

πŸ“š Standards Based Grading πŸ“š πŸ“š Standards Based Grading πŸ“š

Please see a breakdown of Standards Scoring Below

A new standards-based report card format has been introduced in grades K-4 in the 2025-2026 school year. While parents and students in grades K-4 will continue to view report cards through Power School, the format will look different. Students in grades 3-4 will continue to receive a letter grade for each subject, but will also be assessed using state standards for each subject area, including specials. Kindergarteners will continue to be assessed using only standards. Grades K-2 will be standards only, no letter grades. Teachers will assess students using the state standards to insure clarity and consistency in expectations across classroom and grade levels. The standards-based design will allow more detailed feedback aligned with specific learning goals for each of the subjects, thereby aiding parents, students, teachers and administrators to focus on growth and areas needing additional support.
